Elegant and Tasty Green Smoothie
Yields: 14 oz.

1 cup Yogurt/Liquid Protein (Freeze your yogurt beforehand, if possible)
1 cup Mixed Frozen Organic Berries
1/2 large frozen banana
1/2 cup Kale (I have small hands, so I just grab a tight handful) 
1 TBSP spirulina
1/2 cup bottled OJ or fresh squeezed orange juice

I haven’t published any recipes on UBO MAG as of yet so I decided I should see what the people want. Check out this recipe that I wrote, read it, make it and try it. Tell me what you think. If you want to see new recipes every week from myself and other writers, we will make this happen!

First, pull out your blender or bullet, cut a banana in half, take one half and break that in half, add to your bullet. Then add 1 cup of yogurt/protein. I used Light & Fit Greek Peach Yogurt (This is Fat Free and has a small amount of sugar) you can use Fat Free/Plain Yogurt, Soy, Almond Milk or anything else. I froze my yogurt so it was a solid chunk. If you use a sugar free protein, add raw local honey, agave or 100% pure maple syrup). Remember that the more frozen items you have here, the more cold and smooth it will be.

Next add 1 cup of fresh or frozen mixed berries (strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry is what I have on hand but you can use gogi, acai, cherries, pomegranate pods, huckleberry, mulberry, elderberry, black currants, etc) and 1 TBSP of spirulina. Top with 1/2 cup Kale (or you can use spinach). *If you have hemp seeds add those for a nutty flavor…I don’t have them on me where I am visiting right now. Now, add about 1/4-1/2 cup of OJ or your fresh squeezed juice. You can even add just slices of orange.
Lastly, press down your bullet or start your blender on “Blend” option and see all the colors, white, green, purple, red, orange blending together. If your tool gets stopped up, add that last 1/4 cup OJ or just a splash. Finish blending and pour into a 16 oz. glass. Feel free to split this up and share.Just remember that if you do choose to share, add another scoop of spirulina for the other person.
There is a ton of Vitamin C, Vitamin B1-B6, lots of Iron, Vitamin D, Folate, Magnesium, Calcium, Thiamin, Niacin, Protein, Potassium and Dietary Fiber.  This is a great way to start your day, or cut the recipe in half and have this between meals.
