CBD products have been taking over alternative health products the last few years and we recently teamed up with Benicia, CA-based ALTWELL to share with our readers honest and ethically grown products offered for those who are in need of relaxation, to aide anxiety, stress and relieve pain.

ALTWELL, a new company which sprang up January 2020, is founded by the Picket Family who is known world-wide for their popular Muscle Milk Brand, an established food and beverage company that specializes in protein shakes used by famous athletes and fitness gurus use. Spring 2020, ALTWELL partnered with health expert and co-founder of Tone It Up, Karena Dawn to provide their customers CBD products that can be paired with an active lifestyle, mindfulness and well-being, according to Money-Yahoo.

Their goal is to be one of the leading CBD products available for health and wellness. Between the two companies, ALTWELL, which uses ethically grown CBD from Colorado offers a combined 50 years of experience in the wellness field, providing supplemental nutrition and sports performance products.

“Our family jumped into the space hoping to provide more natural solutions to deal with our over-stressed, anxiety-filled and over-prescribed everyday lives, “ Nikki Brown, co-founder of ALTWELL shares with Money Yahoo who found that many of the CBD products available on the market are inconsistent thus causing confusion with product labels and consumers of CBD products.

Dawn was immediately ready to help the Picket Family of whom she has been acquainted with for over 13-years. Their connection is due to the fact that Dawn founded and operates a health and wellness website which offers fitness routines, recipes and consumable health products like her ‘Tone It Uporganic plant-based protein powder.

Since the two companies have combined forces, ALTWELL has received great press from a variety of different types of media, including but not limited to PopSugar, InTouch Weekly and Parade Magazine; all of which wrote great reviews of the product. Even Hip-Hop Entertainment Zine Hype Magazine reviewed Dawn about COVID19, Health and using Altwell gummies for their calming benefits.

So when I received my sample products in the mail to review for UBO MAG, I was super excited!! The first product I tried was the facial serum which, according to ALTWELL, helps to ‘soothe mind and body.’ I tried this for a week, using just one drop from the bottle which comes with a dropper. Using the sample, I found that tension was removed immediately which is great since I suffer from anxiety and stress. The product comes as a 1 oz. (30 ml) glass bottle which includes 500mg of Full-Spectrum CBD. Each drop contains 16.7 mg of CBD to your face.

Next, I tried ALTWELL’s SportsBalm which comes in a 2 oz. glass jar.  The sample I received is actually the same jar customers can purchase. Since I suffer from Sciatica, a condition where the sciatic nerve becomes irritated and pinched, creating pressure due to injuries or overuse (yea, I am an old dog). This is a daily pain for me, especially sitting in an office chair for over 40 hours a week.

As soon as I generously added the sports balm and rubbed it into my hip and upper buttocks area, I instantly felt relief. The relief was so physically evident that as I continued my daily tasks working from home, other parts where I didn’t apply balm were revealed and I was able to locate them and add the balm to those areas as well, helping me to not have to take breaks to lay down or stretch (from sitting or walking). The reason why I felt so much relief is because this sports balm includes a whopping 1000 mg of full-spectrum CBD!

Our bodies already contain an endogenous cannabinoid system which helps us to regulate balance to the processes in the body such as your immune system response, cell communication, appetite, metabolism and memory. In other words, Cannabinoids regulate us. Endocannabinoids and their receptors can be found all over the human body, brain, organs, connective tissues, glands and immune system. The label says it all.

“We’re committed to helping you life each day with ease. ALTWELL Sports Balm may help to take the edge off, so you can keep doing what you love and rest comfortably afterwards.” ATWELL says and this is my type of balm so I appreciate it!

So by consuming THC or CBD, you are putting back into your body what needs to be there. The sports balm does contain .03 mg of trace THC if customers are concerned about psychoactive compound from the balm. I, however, did not feel any of the psychoactive effects, just calming or removal of pain. Other plants that have been studied to include cannabinoids are black pepper, echinacea, broccoli, cloves, ginseng and carrots.

Last but not least, I tried out ALTWELL’s delicious plant-based protein supplement.  This supplement includes not just an organic protein blend made of pea, hemp and pumpkin seed but ethically found ingredients to create their vanilla and chocolate protein powder. I have to say that even tasting the powder, I knew instantly that this is the best protein powder that I have ever tried.

ALTWELL’s Protein Powder which nourishes your mind and body, according to the company, includes 750 grams or 300 mg of broad-spectrum CBD. Each serving contains 20 mg which is the perfect amount to get the day going. According to ALTWELL’s website, the product can be used by adding 2 scoops into 8-12 oz. water or almond milk.

I decided to take it a step further and create the perfect balance for the best protein smoothie you have ever had. I promise. Check out the recipe below.

Coconut Orange Julius with CBD Protein Powder

Ingredients
2 Scoops Altwell Vanilla Protein Powder Supplement
2 Cups Coco Soul Organic Coconut Milk
2 Local Oranges
1 Frozen Local Hawaiian Banana
1-2 tbsp Organic Ginger
½ tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup Shredded Organic Coconut
1 bunch of house-grown mint leaves

First I gathered all my ingredients together (as pictured) and added banana, coco milk, ginger, a few mint leaves, a few cinnamon sprinkles and protein powder together in my blender. Next I took an orange zester (or grater) and grated most of the peel off one orange. Add the zest in the blender while you are grating it. Next, I cut the two oranges in four pieces each and removed the fruit from the peel, adding it into the blender. Now that you have all the ingredients together begin the blend for the best orange Julius you have ever had (with CBD protein powder).  Once blended well (add ice, if needed), add to a mason jar and garnish with cinnamon, coconut flakes, two mint leaves and a twist of orange.

I hope you enjoy your ALTWELL CBD Protein Powder Orange Julius as much as our family did!
