OAKLAND, Calif. — Ras Ceylon remains one of UBO MAG’s favorite underground Hip Hop emcees because his dedication to conscious music and liberation runs deep. The Sri Lankan-born emcee works closely with Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. of the Black Panther Party and Black Panther Cubs, Sizzla Kalonji’s Judgement Yard and holds official status as a Wu-Tang Killa Bee.
With over two decades in Hip Hop, five solo albums and dozens of feature appearances across Hip Hop and Reggae projects, Ras Ceylon continues to deliver heavy-hitting content.
His latest LP, Scrollz of Lion Rock, co-hosted by Timbo King and executive produced by Oliver “Power” Grant of Wu-Tang Brand, landed on June 19, 2026 and is available on BandCamp, along with official Ras Ceylon Merch. Tracks like “Word Is Bond” featuring Timbo King and Cappadonna bring raw Wu-Tang energy over Egyptian-inspired production. On the same album, “River 2 Sea” featuring Solomon Childs and Timbo King directly addresses colonization and global struggles while the uplifting single “Free The World” featuring Timbo King provides high-vibe inspiration for the culture and was previously covered in UBO MAG.
Building on that momentum, the Oakland-based lyricist turned his attention to a more personal narrative for his latest visual release off the album.

Ras Ceylon – Shot of Heart Muscle Music Video. Produced by: Bles Infinite, Directed by: Ras Ceylon & Tuff Like Iron, Concept: Tuff Like Iron, Shot & Edited by: Too Reel Studio JA.
Following the release of Scrollz of Lion Rock, Ras Ceylon unveiled the official music video for “Heart Muscle,” one of the project’s most introspective songs. During a recent trip to Jamaica, Ras Ceylon hosted the second stop of his Scrollz of Lion Rock Album Xperience series in Kingston at Itopia Life before joining forces with artist Tuff Like Iron and Too Reel Studio JA to film the official video.
Co-directed by Ras Ceylon and Tuff Like Iron, “Heart Muscle” explores love, heartbreak, healing and the emotional resilience required to keep an open heart despite life’s disappointments. Produced by Bles Infinite, the soulful track finds Ras Ceylon reflecting on marriage, divorce, casual relationships and faith through his signature blend of conscious storytelling.
The production was brought to life through a collaborative creative team. Tuff Like Iron hosted the production and conceived the video’s storyline while Too Reel Studio JA handled cinematography and editing. Featured performers MomoGudLife, Love Divine and Space Kat delivered compelling performances that drive the story forward.
At its core, “Heart Muscle” addresses breaking cycles of standard single life and casual relationships. Ras Ceylon appears ready to settle down in his lyrics but the visual narrative shows three Jamaican women expressing frustration with him through side-eyes, thrown stickers and tossed notebooks. His mind stays focused on red flags yet he remains determined to find authentic love. Throughout the visual, Ras Ceylon reps his roots by throwing up the West Side sign and his Wu-Tang affiliation.
Ultimately, the visual serves as an honest look at self-improvement and personal accountability, closing with a strong affirmation: “…I believe in love, so I’ll keep building my Heart Muscle.” 💜🦾
