She started off by self-publishing her own artbooks, her own Magi cards, Inktober and manga art and now is taking the comic world by storm since 2020. Rachta Lin is a Southeast Asian from Singapore who is now working with the likes of DC Comics and others.
Rachta Lin gave up her stable job as an art director to become a freelance artist and illustrator, whose goal is to put out her own work as her own brand in the manga-verse. It is very rare that a new artist is able to attain such a position as Lin has been given do to her viral popularity and touring to share her art with others. This is an achievement that is not easy to get to and can land her deals to design covers for comic book companies who seek out those “saught out” artists that they know will drive their sale.
Her first professionally published works was with Dynamite Comics (Dynamite Entertainment), creating, “Vampirella #16,” a sexy disaster of a calculated vampire wall-painting looking cover that pounds out pastels, offering up a devilish, busty elf-like character that adorns her goblet with dripping blood from some animals above.

Since then, Lin has designed tons of comic book covers for not only DC Comics, Lin has done work for Top Cow and Image, Udon Entertainment (Sakura from Street Fighter and Lilith from Darkstalkers), Blizzard Entertainment, Magic the Gathering, Dynamite ENT (who will be in court Wednesday, July 16 worth $509K against Diamond and where they wanted the hearing moved up because they are now owed over one-million) among others.
Her most recent work, which made its debut at New York City Comic Con, is for Absolute Batman #1, a book which has gained critical praise for its fresh approach, and for which Rachta’s cover made the CBR Top 10 covers for the series.
Taking in to account the high inflation on Rachta’s covers over on Ebay and other stores, it’s worth nailing them on release if you can find them. Some of the covers have been exclusives for US Comic Stores, so you may have to do a bit of digging, but UK stockists like Forbidden Planet, Sad Lemon Comics and 7Ate9 can order in for you and frequently stock the regular variant covers she produces.
Lin, whose first “art-related” job was being an Art Director, helped her to develop her art and business skills, is looking for work-life balance and jokingly told AsiaOne that it is unacceptable the amount of time she puts into her work – while attempting to balance life. Now she is working on her own story called, The Wonderverse Saga.

The Wonderverse Saga, according to Lin, is the dark tale of The Phoenix, a sub-human born into an oppressive world where super-humans are born into a world to rule them all.
Lin wants to collaborate with Japanese Manga artists, especially Takehiko Inoue and Vagabond, who, according to Lin have well-developed “storytelling skills.”
Rachta Lin hosted an event in Sacramento, June 19 at Nine8 comic books for a meet-and-greet.
“There will be prints to buy and she has an open commission list so definitely get on that too because there will be limited spots!” Says the Nine8 crew on their Facebook page.
Come on by and get your own Racchta Lin art signed by the artist. She will also have new and classic prints to buy and is open to schedule commission work, so come on by if you are a fan or are looking to commission art.
