SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Long known for his microphone prowess, Sacramento Hip Hop artist Bueno is taking his storytelling to the screen with the debut of the nine-episode web series, “City Of Trees,” where each episode will run 30-40 minutes, a format Bueno likened to the television series, Power.
“As far as what we are doing, there ain’t nobody doing this,” Bueno asserted at the premiere held in Elk Grove, Calif.
More than just entertainment, the series aims to unify the area that inspired it.
“At a time when the whole city is divided, the plan was to bring us together,” Bueno shared. “In respect to street politics, I understand the reasons for the separation. But together through unity we are much stronger, and we all representing the same thing: THE CITY OF TREES!”

The Grind and the Narrative
“Trying to do right… don’t mean you make it out.”
The drama is set in a capital city rife with internal street conflict. “City Of Trees” follows local heavyweights who are faced with a dilemma: become a solution to the city’s turmoil or add to the chaos. According to the official website, the film is an in-depth look into a lifestyle that’s often misunderstood, aiming to give a voice to the people who live it.
“‘City Of Trees’ is not a web series that glorifies violence; instead, it is an in-depth look into a lifestyle that’s often misunderstood and gives a voice to the people that live it,” the production team states. “These are the people, and these are their stories.”
The project is a true homegrown effort, involving more than 200 people from the Sacramento community. The team has already secured a deal for the series to stream on Tubi, with other streaming platforms and networks reportedly in the pipeline.
The private screening and celebration took place Saturday, Sept. 27, at Hook and Reel, a Cajun restaurant in Elk Grove, serving as a coming-out party for the production team and a moment of community pride.
A Unified Front
The theme of unity was echoed by other key players in the project.
Young Meek, a major contributor to the production, emphasized the effort to bring Sacramento’s neighborhoods together.
“I want to thank all ya’ll for coming out and celebrating with us. It took a whole bunch of cats to put this together,” Meek said. “I want to thank all ya’ll who came together with us, cats from The Heights, from the P, Rancho. We wanna take this back to the NYSP days, prior to the gangbanging; when everybody was together and everything was cool.”
