Battle Rap League A.H.A.T. League To Start New Chapter in Hawaii And First Battle In Oahu on April 27

Kapaa, HI, March 25, 2019 –
A.H.A.T. (All HipHop All the Time) Rap Battle League is Quickly Gaining Exposure With New Hawaii Chapter President, Kaleo Largusa A.K.A. Son Da One of Kauai Already Booking The First Battle April 27 At The Upstairs Dragon Room At 1038 Nuuanu Rd. In Honolulu; doors open at 7:30 pm. Son Da One has booked five battles to take place, following a hip-hop musical performance by regional artists.

A.H.A.T. was founded by Omar O.D. Davis; a CA-native who first took the battles to local barbershops, recording and publishing them on Youtube. O.D. is known for his radio personality gigs at KCEP 88.1 FM in Las Vegas and KWLP 100.9 FM in Arizona. The response to these battles was so phenomenal that O.D. took the show to the World Famous Johnny Toccos Boxing Gym. Currently, A.H.A.T. has over 260K subscribers and several chapters in CA, TX, UT, WA, GA, OR, MI, NY and now HI; continuing the legacy O.D. began in ʻ08.

Once Son Da One received a few battles under his belt and moved home to Kauai, he was in talks with O.D. which ended with the birth of A.H.A.T., Hawaii. Son Da One recently named Esera ʻEsʻ Letoa, from Oahu, HI as his Vice President for A.H.A.T. Hawaii. Es has experience battle rapping in Utah, Washington and Oahu through A.H.A.T. and U.R.L. leagues. Son Da One connected with CA emcee and infamous battle rapper, JP Cali Smoov naming him General Manager of A.H.A.T. HI. Cali Smoov currently works with “Aim4TheHeart,” a non-profit that works with youth in public schools, youth centers and detention centers.

Son Da One has deep roots growing up in Kauai, eventually giving speeches about the power of the spoken-word to youth at public schools and was a big part in running the first Open Mic on the island. He has slam competition placements at the legendary Green Mill Uptown Poetry Slam in Chicago, IL and gained a championship for Kauai’s Iron Mic Poetry Competition in ʻ09. Son Da One performed as an emcee with the infamous HipHop group, The Highlanders (Kauai, HI) during this time. Just the last few years Son Da One began battle rapping and networking within the battle culture including battling Osna in a battle on Oahu in ʻ14 that received a lot of online feedback on Youtube and other social media platforms.

The event, Trouble In Paradise will be hosted by Justin ʻJus Boneʻ Kaneshiro, a local Oahu promoter and radio personality at KTUH 90.1 FM for his show, “GotRice?” Featured battles for the evening will be Cali Smoov vs. Es and Son Da One vs. Deondre ʻDre Viciousʻ Glover (Watts, CA) who is currently holds the ʻA.H.A.T. Battler of the Year.ʻ Special battles include Ryan ʻPhreewillʻ Delora (Big Island Hawaii) vs. C.J. Fyia (Oahu, HI) and then Jeremy ʻTrendsettaʻYagong (Hawaii) vs. Marcus ʻDogs Oneʻ Hersom (Maui, HI) and lastly El Tayo (Bay Area, Northern CA) vs. Tiernan Clarke (Hawaii). All four of these local guys are new to the battle scene.

Following the battle will be live HipHop performances by Hawaiian artists Dallah Deezo, Dizzie Daz, Wisemouth and Aktion Twentybirdz. The battle will not be judged in a traditional way; rather it will be recorded, edited and submitted online at the Official A.H.A.T. Battle League Youtube page for hard-core Battle Rap fans to debate who did better. This offers the rappers a place where they can receive a critical assessment from others who are keen to the mission behind battle rap.

Come join Son Da One and Vice President Es at The Upstairs Dragon Room for Trouble In Paradise and check out what A.H.A.T. Hawaii has to offer. A.H.A.T. plans to share a vital part of HipHop Culture to the people of Hawaii. Son Da One plans to organize more A.H.A.T. Sponsored Battle Events. If someone has what it takes to get on the mic, have the swagger and battle someone they most likely never have met then Battle Rap might be for you, contact A.H.A.T. Hawaii to get involved.
