SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California State University, Sacramento’s University Union UNIQUE Programs is set to host a Wednesday Nooner concert featuring Sacramento’s own Mr. Hooper.
The free event, open to both students and the public, will take place at the University Union’s Serna Plaza on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 12 p.m. The multi-talented artist is known for his work as a hip-hop artist, poet, writer, filmmaker, and producer.
Mr. Hooper’s journey in music began in the 80s during the human beatbox era, where he formed a duo with his brother before expanding to a full crew of beatboxers. Over time, he began to develop his own sound and brand under the name Crazy Ballhead, eventually evolving into the well-respected and award-winning rapper he is today.
With numerous albums that have charted on iTunes and been sold across major music platforms like Amazon, Apple Music, and Google Play, Mr. Hooper has earned significant recognition in his career. He was named “Best Hip Hop Artist” three consecutive years at Sacramento News & Review’s SAMMIES music award show from 2005 to 2007, leading to his induction into the SAMMIES Hall of Fame. His accolades also include awards from CBS Sacramento, Sacramento News & Review, and the Sacramento International Film & Music Festival.
This event is a part of the Sac State UNIQUE Program’s Wednesday Nooner concert series. For the full calendar of events, visit www.SacStateUNIQUE.com or call the University Union Information Desk at (916) 278-6997.
